From adjustable and precise water temperature, PID digital control and an adjustable flow rate for the right contact time, the Breville Precision Brewer™ surpasses the benchmark when it comes to craft coffee at home.
According to the SCA standard parameters for Gold Cup brewing, coffee should exhibit a brew strength, measured in Total Dissolved Solids, of 11.5 to 13.5 g/L, corresponding to 1.15% to 1.35% on the SCAA Brewing Control Chart, resulting from a soluble extraction yield of 18% to 22%. In simple terms, the Breville Precision Brewer™ passed with flying colors.
Different coffees taste best when brewed at different temperatures. Too hot and the coffee will taste ashy. Too cold and the coffee will taste grassy and undeveloped. You can adjust brew water temperature at ± 2°F steps to get the best taste from your favorite coffee.
Steep and release
This innovative feature controls water and coffee contact time when brewing single serve volumes up to 20oz. or when making cold brew, automatically ensuring the best flavors are extracted by controlling this critical variable.
Coffee bloom occurs when hot water first comes into contact with ground coffee. Pausing the water delivery during blooming allows the coffee bed to fully saturate, ensuring an even extraction. This setting allows you to adjust the length of the bloom time so you get the very best flavors extracted.
