Chrome coating on beaters flaking off after a few uses

I have only used this mixer a handful of times and the last time I used it, I discovered that the chrome coating on the beaters was peeling off after I found silver flecks in my cake batter! Not only is this a health hazard, it shows how cheaply made the beaters were for the coating to break down after only five or so uses. What's worse is it looks like I can't even buy replacement beaters for this model if I wanted to. 

I'm really unimpressed with this product, don't be fooled by the convenience of the storage and buy something worth the money!

dough hooks where have you been hiding

This just chopped 45 minutes off my Paratha prep time ( yes I was doing dough by hand for 20 years) _ I was replacing my burnt out hand mixer and thought - dough hooks - why not - so wow I worked out if I made bread every day using these dough hooks - I can get back 7 days of my life a year - if you are not baking because a its time consuming or b you need a big bench top mixer then this is a game changer- 7 days of my life for 20 years that is 140 days I wasted mixing dough- so worth the money even if you have to replace regularly - I literally have had mine a day but had to write a review for all the folk out their still mixing dough by hand .

Best hand mixer

I have a in the past brought, cheap hand mixers which didn't last more then 2 or 3 uses.
I got this one, due to its handy beater container and the easy pull out cord.
I have had it now for 6 mths, and it has been a gem. 
I take it everywhere as it is so handy and will do whip cream to a carrot cake with no problem. 
I'm a member of a CWA so it gets a workout when I take it to one of our functions. 
I think I have probably sold around 6 or 7 of them after my others members have used one and like the way the beaters and cord is stored. 
I would recommend this product with out hesitation

A little disappointed.

While I love the compactness of this unit, especially when I’m an infrequent chef, I miss that it doesn’t have a whisk attachment.
I was ‘surprisingly’ disappointed. On the  lowest speed the beaters just took off! I would have liked the low to BE LOW! 
Overall if it’s a mixer for now and then it’s OK. I don’t think I’d recommend it I’m sorry to say.

Wow where has this mixer been my whole life

This mixer is everything i could possibly want in a mixer high speeds with more power than i have ever experienced from a mixer. retractable cord is also a feature that i have never seen before in a hand mixer and is so convenient along the with the handy storage for beater sticks that clips onto the bottom of the mixer when not in use the entire mixer is all packed up together and compact and easy to store with no cord to worry about no more looking for beater sticks in a drawer as this is all packed up compactly together  and can be kept all together easily with minimal space needed in a kitchen cupboard. I love this so much i have purchased another two for my daughter and my father for gifts.

Very powerful, compact unit.

I love that the attachments are all stored with the unit, and the cord retracts for compact, tidy storage.  The storage case is very easy to remove and replace. For cakes I use the beaters to cream the butter and sugar, then swap to the dough hooks when folding in the flour, as the low speed is still quite high. This works well for me. Various instructions are printed on the unit itself. I suggest adding a mark near the sockets, so your friends don't try to insert the left beater or dough hook into the right socket.

Overzealous retractable cord

Does an OK job, slowest speed is too fast - blasts flour all over the bench. The cord retracts so fast it’s dangerous. The plug flipped over as it reached the machine & whacked my thumb that was pushing the retract button so hard it started bleeding. My old Breville hand mixer from 30 years ago was so much better.

Breville Hand Mixer

This is a useful applicance in the kitchen. I like how the plastic tray keeps the attachments together with the mixer, however it easily knocks off when in storage and I find it needs to be carefully placed and not knocked to stay together. The pull in power cord is great and works well. The beaters fit in easily and come out easily. In use, sometimes the beaters make a screaching noise and I haven't gotten to the bottom of why that sometimes happens. On the whole I do like the appliance but I don't think it's up to Breville's usual very high standards.
