Your path to great coffee extraction

This is our replacement for the previous gen grinder BCG800 that came with plasticky impeller under the conical burrs. It was still great and functional after so many years of daily use!

Smart Grinder Pro looks very similar to its predecessor, but it has a lot of more improvements and functions and it definitely lives up to its name.

It allows you to be more accurate with grinding and have ability to remember different settings for different beans. This model also uses grinding time rather than using dials in the prev-gen.

Once you set it up, you will need some good freshly roasted beans and your fingers (and portafilter ofcourse), you will definitely see the improvement of the coffee extraction.

Highly recommend it.

PS: This one comes with stainless steel (I think) impeller so it would be less likely to be worn out.

The Doorway to Better Home Espresso

Great entry grinder if you're diving into the world of espresso. It's been a great tool for me to discover the differences that grind settings and dosings make in espresso extraction. Without having to spend an arm and a leg the grinder gives you access to the world of making the adjustments you need. The portafilter attachment with the push to turn on and grind is my favourite setting. Once you're dialed in, grinding becomes a fluid part of the espresso brew. Check out James Hoffmans Understanding Espresso videos on YouTube if you're keen to dive in.

Good solid grinder.

Got my first grinder in 2012 and after 2 years it failed and Breville replaced it without question. The replacement has been rock solid for espresso and filtered coffee. When I upgraded my coffee machine to one with an E61 group head, the E61 portafilter would not fit into the basket so bought a Baratza. Now I have 2 grinders side by side, the Baratza for espresso and the Breville for filter grinds and it is outstanding for the Chemex.

Interesting footnote that I just learned today that Breville has purchase Baratza, so am still very much in the Breville family of customers!

My experience is that this is quality product backed by good customer service. Cant ask for more.

Great little grinder!

Love this grinder. It is compact, attractive and versatile with many different grind settings so it is suitable for the different extraction methods - plunger, filter, percolator, espresso. You can grind directly into portafilter (2 different cradle sizes provided) or into a coffee filter or the grinds container. The grind time (amount) is easily adjusted, and the grind can easily be stopped earlier if required. It retains the adjusted time for that brew method until/unless it is adjusted again. It is easy to use and clean, with a removable magnetised tray, handy if the ground coffee spills over.

Good value, quiet, beautiful, great for expresso

It is made with quality materials, really beautiful design, it works very quiet and precise. It's perfect for expresso coffee. I've been using it for few days so far, lets see what happen in the long run.

Inconsistent Grind

I purchased the Smart Grinder Pro April 2023 along with a Dual Boiler. I use the Smart Grinder Pro as a single dose machine and generally use around 80gms of coffee beans per day (4x20gms). I weigh the bean dose and weigh the output, then weigh the shot. When the grinder is near to the end of grinding the dose, I give it a gentle rock to help eliminate retention. However I have found of late that the grind has become quite inconsistent, from one dose to the other, and also the adjustability is also not really fine enough. If you are coffee aficianado, I would suggest you spend a little more on a more specialised product to avoid disappointment and frustration.

Really happy with the Smart Grinder Pro. Set up was fast and easy, and the coffee that I now have is better than ever because the beans are freshly ground. I highly recommend.

Breville coffee grinder matches perfectly with Breville dual boiler espresso.

Great grinder to go with the Breville Dual boiler espresso machine. Auto start, grind time, cups and size. Perfect machine to use and keeps relatively clean.
