What water should I use?
Spring water, filtered, and bottled water are recommended for the best flavour and to keep your machine working at peak performance. Distilled, zero-filtered, RO (Reverse Osmosis), and demineralized water should NEVER be used in any of our coffee machines as they can cause the unit not to respond, damage internal components, or intermittent operations.
Water hardness setting stuck
After setting water hardness with the dial, press the button to confirm. If there’s not enough water in the tank, the unit will prompt you to fill the water tank with at least 6 cups of water. Then the 2 minute priming cycle will start automatically.
Not all the water has emptied from the water tank
It is normal for some water left over in the tank, around < 40 ml at the bottom.
If the tank has a substantial amount of water left in the tank or is not brewing all, this could mean that the tank is not clicked on to the unit properly – push down with light force on the top of the water tank until you hear the click.
Coffee leaks from the carafe or basket
There is a spring mechanism in the basket and carafe lid which must seat fully to prevent leaking. If debris or excess coffee oils have built up the spring may become stuck. Inspect the parts to ensure no debris is present and wash the parts in warm soapy water. If you continue to experience an issue, contact out Breville Support team and we will help you out.
Factory reset
Hold the Settings and Delayed Start buttons together for 3 seconds. The unit will return to setup mode and guide you through water hardness, clock, and temperature format (°C/°F).
Clock not always visible
The unit does not display the clock continuously. The internal clock is used for delayed auto start. After daylight savings time changes, you’ll need to reset the clock manually.
How to remove the “Time Since Brew” message from display
Simply hold the Select button for 3-5 seconds and the message will disappear.
