Fast boiling

I bought this kettle a month ago based on the reviews and also the fact that I owned a much older model that I was really happy with. This kettle is very smart looking and it boils quickly. However it is much louder than our older model which is really disappointing. I would not say this is a quiet kettle. The most annoying thing about this model is you have to press the on button twice for it to boil. If you're unaware of this it is really frustrating the amount of times you think you've turned it on and you haven't. Don't waste your money on this expensive kettle its not worth it. I wish the reviews had been more honest as I wouldn't have bought this kettle.

Expensive, but so worth it !!

We had a similar kettle from a different brand which we used to love & when it stopped working, couldn't;t justify the price of replacement, so went with a regular kettle, which lasted around 5 years. When it came to replacing it, I really missed the ease of setting our old kettle to lower than 100 degrees & when I found this revile one on sale, I couldn't resist. Still expensive, but after only a couple of weeks, so very worthwhile. And I now justify the price thinking about the electricity savings over the years ahead !!! Such a great purchase & with a really substantial / high quality "feel" about it too..

The perfect kettle DOES exist

Excellent kettle, boils very quickly and quietly, and it looks fantastic. The only sound it makes is a single moderately loud beep when it's finished heating the water to your selected temp. It remembers the last temp option you heated to, which is very useful when you require sterile cooled boiled water but you mostly use the coffee (95°c) setting. Everything feels very well constructed so I'm hopeful this will last us many years. One thing to note is that it is quite heavy, which could be an issue for some users.

Difficult to control pouring rate

For the money they're charging for this kettle you'd think they'd be able to get the spout right. It's ok as long as it's full, but if you've only got a small amount of water in the kettle it seems to have only two modes: trickle out uselessly or else come gushing out and overflow whatever you're pouring into.

Today it seems to have a developed a new feature... the lid is rattling as the kettle boils making it very noisy. Hopefully it was just a one-off but if not I think I'll be returning it.

The Smart Crystal Luxe Kettle

We recently replaced our old Breville kettle with the Smart Crystal Luxe Kettle, and we've been very happy with the upgrade. We regularly brew different types of tea, including sencha, oolong, and Earl Grey, and with our previous kettle we often had to add cold water after boiling to reach the right temperature.
The preset temperature settings make it easy to brew each type of tea at its ideal temperature, which is both convenient and consistent. The build quality feels excellent, and we love the premium finish. The glass kettle is also a great feature, allowing you to easily see when the water has reached the desired temperature. The slow-opening lid is a nice touch and makes the kettle look extra premium.
Overall, it's a very well-designed kettle that has made our daily tea routine much easier and more enjoyable.

A quiet kettle which is easy to pout

This is a significant upgrade on the regular Smart Kettle, if only for the way this kettle pours. It's really nice to be able to pour something so easily after struggling with the less well-designed shape of the cylindrical kettle for years. There's just something nice about being able to pour the water out easily. It's also quieter than the Smart Kettle, with less beeping. The handle also feels stronger compared to the other kettle, which made me worry about whether the handle would eventually break, as it felt a bit fragile when the kettle was full. The Luxe feels steady as a rock to pick up and use, even when full. The only down side is that you have to press the button twice to boil the kettle, rather than just once, if you haven't already woken up the control panel. I'd certainly buy that again over the regular version, just for the pour!

Superior Kettle

The Smart Crystal Luxe is certainly a step-up from the Smart Kettle that we are replacing. A slightly squatter shape with a wider base giving a pleasing shape. The lid opens smoothly and filling markings are easy to see. The handle is well balanced and comfortable. the slightly greater weight is not noticeable. Heating and boiling is seemingly faster and temperature selection easy and convenient.

Best kettle I've ever owned, worth every penny mon

Best kettle I've ever owned, worth every penny money! Simple to use, quiet, gives you a subtle little beep when heated to your desired temp. You can adjust the temp to your needs with the different settings. Water boiling in glass much better for health than metal. Overall we absolutely love it!
