Great disappointment after our kast Breville toaster, no crumpet setting, select any timer setting over 2 with normal bread & it burns, I'm sure you could cook a steak wit h any setting over 5. It doesn't allow the toasted items to be lifted high enough for safe removal, crumpet can barely be removed & hot cross buns cannot be removed without a, non conducive, aid & I certainly wouldn't advise anyone with small fingers from trying to use this as the risk of burning is high.
Our previous Breville toaster was a dream, this is a piece of ill designed junk & how it got through testing is beyond me.

Lift & Look useless for anything other than full sized bread

This toaster is a replacement for a 10 year old Sunbeam, ours seems to toast fine, will just need some time to get used to the different toast level settings compared to our old one. However, the lift & look function is absolutely useless for anything other than full sized bread, crumpets (in particular round) and breakfast muffins absolutely useless let alone trying to get them out of the toaster once they are done. Picture sticking your fingers into a hot toaster to fish them out.

Looked good

Our previous Breville toaster was a ripper and lasted over 10 years.
This toaster was brought 18 months ago at when only 2 of 4 slices worked and the lever would not engage on the rear 2 . Very disappointing for a relatively new and well looked after toaster that was priced at the high end of the market  . The browning was also variable over the 18 months .
When contacted Breville offered a 40 % discount on a replacement, however we decided to try a different brand

Looks great, works well

Bought this toaster to replace the one we got 20 years ago.  Very happy with this purchase.  It looks great, and toasts well.  I like that it has a fruit bread setting, but wish it also had a crumpet/english muffin setting.  It is fairly quiet when the toast pops up.  Features such as being able to add a little more time if the toast isn't quite right, and to check the doneness without interruping the toast cycle, are useful.

OK....

Trial and error to find the best setting, but seems to give a good light toast at 2.5. The little bit extra and lift to look functions are both helpful. My only complaint would be when using the defrost option - seems to overcook the top half and barely cook the bottom half. I can live without that function though as it seems to toast frozen bread ok without it. Overall, not wowed but will do the trick.

High lift does not work

I bought this a few months ago and it has been the worst toaster I have used to date.  anything that is smaller than an average toast bread is hard to get out of the toaster, ie Vogels, crumpets, English muffins, fruit toast.  you either burn your finger as a result to get the toast out or have to use something to get these items out. The high lift lever does not work for these items either.

Difficult to remove anything other than full sized toast

Like others have said this toaster looks the goods, however, if you toast anything other than FULL Sized toast your going to have to get your fingers into the toaster and possibly burnt to remove whaterver you are toasting as the High Lift is pretty well useless, even normal sized bread only just pokes its head out of the toaster to grab. Seems to toast reasonably though.

Looks nice but doesn’t toast

Looks great this toaster. But the issue is it just doesn’t toast. The heating panels are spaced apart and it takes forever. We are trying to toast sourdough, with no sugar in it and no preservatives in it. So it takes some cooking. But in this toaster we need more than 2 x max Cook cycle. It’s the worst we’ve had. Pity because other Breville products are great.
