To melt the chocolate, place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of barely simmering water. Don't allow the base of the bowl to touch the water, so the chocolate doesn't overheat. Stir occasionally until melted.
Remove the chocolate from the heat. Dip a martini glass into the chocolate to coat the rim.
Place the chilled espresso, Kahlua, vodka and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and replace the lid. Vigorously shake until combined.
Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the prepared martini glass. Add the ice cream and garnish with gold leaf.
