Air-Fried Barbecue Mixed Nuts

Air frying the nuts evenly toasts them, which enhances their flavor. These are great served at parties or as an energy-boosting snack. Feel free to change it up too by simply swapping out the barbecue seasoning for your favorite combination.

Ingredients


Measurements:

  • mixed nuts icon
    2½ cups (350 g) mixed nuts
  • large egg white icon
    1 large egg white
  • kosher salt icon
    1 tsp kosher salt
  • barbecue seasoning icon
    1½ tsp barbecue seasoning
  • smoked paprika icon
    1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • 1

    Set the oven to Bake, No Fan, 230°C, for 4 minutes and press Start to preheat.

    Evenly spread the nuts in the air fry basket. Insert the basket in the middle position and cook for 4 minutes, or until lightly toasted.

    Remove the nuts from the oven and stand for 10 minutes to cool.

  • 4

    Adjust the oven to Air Fry, Super Convection, 150°C, for 10 minutes and press Start. Meanwhile, continue to the next step.

    Place the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until frothy. Add the salt, seasoning and paprika and whisk for 1 minute.

    Add the cooled nuts to the coating and stir. Evenly spread the nuts in a single layer in the air fry basket.

  • 7

    Place the basket in the middle position and cook for 10 minutes. Halfway through cooking, carefully stir the nuts and continue cooking. 

  • 8

    The nuts should be golden brown. If not, cook for a few extra minutes.

  • 9

    The nuts can be served warm or at room temperature. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
