How to create latte art: the tulip & rosetta

Share with friends

To make The Tulip or The Rosetta patterns on the Oracle®, the instructions are the same as the basic dot—though with slight variations at the end. To create The Rosetta, start by holding the jug in a high position and the cup tilted. This will create a larger surface area of the espresso. Next, pour a thin, steady stream of microfoam milk to pierce the center of the crema. As the cup fills with milk, tip the cup into a more upright position, then bring the tip of the jug close to the surface of the milk, almost touching it. You'll begin to see a white dot. Keep pouring steadily to make the dot larger, then pour through the ""leaves,"" lifting the jug to finish. To make The Tulip, repeat this process. When the white dot starts to appear, stop pouring, then pour very close to the surface several times to create "arcs." Then pour through the arcs, lifting the jug to finish. Viola!
