Air-Fried from Frozen Shoestrings

The svelte little shoestring fry gets a multi-event cooking experience from the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro. The end result… slender golden crispness from top to bottom.

We tuned this recipe using Ore-Ida Golden Shoestrings.

Instructions

  • 1Insert the air fry basket into position 5. Select Phase Cook for P1 and set the oven to Bake, Super Convection, 190°C, for 14 minutes. Press Confirm for P2, set the oven to Bake, Super Convection, 170°C, for 12 minutes and press Start to preheat.
  • 2Once preheated, remove the fries from the freezer and carefully add them to the basket, in a single layer, then cook for 14 minutes in P1. With 5 minutes remaining in P1, carefully turn and shake the fries and continue cooking. The oven will automatically switch to P2. With 4 minutes remaining in P2, carefully turn and shake the fries one more time.
  • 3The shoestring fries should be golden brown. If not, cook them a little longer. When ready, open the oven door and slide the basket out. Allow the fries to stand for 2 minutes before removing from the oven.
  • 4Slender, crisp and crazy moreish, these fries are the perfect sidekick for grilled steak and lobster and of course old friends for your burger, sub or sandwich. Feeling a little gourmet but want to keep it simple? Season with truffle salt or scatter them with parsley and grated parmesan.
