Ingredients


Measurements:

  • large ripe tomato icon
    3 large ripe tomatoes

    such as oxheart or beefsteak

  • sea salt icon
    ½ tsp sea salt
  • extra-virgin olive oil icon
    2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

    divided

  • ciabatta roll icon
    2 ciabatta rolls
  • clove garlic icon
    2 cloves garlic

    halved

Instructions

    Cut the tomatoes in half horizontally. Grate the cut side of each tomato on the large holes of a box grater into a bowl, discard the skin. Add the salt and one teaspoon of the oil and stir.

    Cut the ciabatta rolls in half and brush the cut side with the remaining oil.

  • 3

    Place the rolls in the toaster with the cut side facing out. Select Crumpet and press Start to toast.

    Tip: Select your preferred toasting shade.
  • 4

    Rub the cut side of the garlic over the toasted surface of the bread. Spoon over the tomato mixture. Cut each piece into 3 fingers and serve.

    Tip: For a traditional variation, top with anchovy fillets before serving.
