How to tamp and trim the dose
Achieving the precise dose of ground coffee is essential to creating delicious, third wave specialty coffee. This video demonstrates how to use The Bambino® Plus to tamp and trim the dose with precision, so you can easily repeat the perfect brew, cup after cup. First, grind the desired amount of coffee into the filter basket. Don't worry if it looks too full at the beginning, as tamping the coffee will decrease the volume. Take the tamper and insert the broad end onto the ground coffee. Press down firmly. As a guide, the top edge of the metal cap on the tamper should be level with the metal ring of the filter basket once you complete the tamping. Now it’s time to trim the dose. Using the enclosed Razor™ precision trimming tool, insert the blade onto the coffee until the “shoulders” of the tool rest on the edge of the filter basket. Rotate the razor tool backward and forward, trimming away any excess coffee grinds. Your filter basket is now perfectly dosed, tamped, and trimmed with the perfect amount of ground coffee for your espresso extraction.
