How to clean the drip tray

Share with friends

While quality coffee beans are important to to making delicious, third wave specialty coffee, using clean tools is just as essential. Maintaining your Barista Pro™ in peak condition helps ensure each cup of coffee your brew is an exceptional experience. The drip tray tends to fill up with water, espresso, grounds, and coffee oils, so we outfitted the tray with an 'Empty Me' indicator that notifies you when it needs to be cleaned—though you don’t have to wait for it to pop up before you clean! In this video, we demonstrate how to empty and clean the drip tray in your Barista Pro™. Remove the drip tray from the machine and empty it in the sink. Next remove the grill, the 'Empty Me' indicator, and the storage tray. Scrub all components except for the storage tray with a soft brush and gentle detergent. For the storage tray, just wipe it with a clean, damp cloth to avoid damaging the finish. Next, rinse everything well with hot water, and dry them. Finally, reassemble the drip tray and reinsert it into the Barista Pro™.
