How to clean portafilter and filter basket

Share with friends

To maintain The Barista Touch™ at peak efficiency so it continues to produce exceptional third wave specialty coffee, it's essential to regularly clean the portafilter and filter basket. Otherwise, coffee residue and espresso oils may build up on the components of your machine. Whether you’ve been making cappuccinos, Americanos, or long blacks, regular cleaning ensures that each cup of coffee you brew is perfect. Take the time to perform a regular flush of the portafilter after every shot. At the end of the day, remove the portafilter and take the filter basket out to wash them separately. Use hot water, mild detergent, and a scrub brush to remove any trace of coffee buildup or espresso oil. Another option for cleaning your equipment is to dissolve a cleaning tablet in hot water. Then soak the metal parts of the portafilter and the filter basket in the cleaning solution. Now you'll be able to enjoy exceptional, café-quality brew with every cup.
