The non-drip valve is better but still drips. The stronger button works great. The carafe is easier to clean and the footprint seems to be smaller that the original one

Absolutely awesome machine. Extremely simple to use, easy to clean and discrete in the kitchen. Very, very smooth coffee too!

Coffee Maker

I bought this machine only a few weeks ago, and I found it was marvellous. Lo and behold, I went to brew a jug of coffee this morning, and nothing happened. It was dead. I checked the power lead to the plug, and it is OK. The power point is also OK. To say the very least, I am very disappointed, son I will take it back to the store where I bought it for a warranty claim. I certainly hope I am not going to experience a similar situation where I bought a coffee maker sold by Aldi, when after 3 replacements failed, I gave up. As I said before, this machine is exactly what I wanted, and it was absolutely marvellous till yesterday, and I missed my excellent brew this morning. I still gave it 5 stars.

Hard to beat for the price

We bought the previous model to this around 5 months ago, as a clearance item it was very cheap. We purchased it after reading favourable reviews and the special clearance price which was hard to pass up. After some use i have both positive and negative points, but some of the negatives may have been rectified in the new model. Positive points are, easy to use and programme, easy to clean, keeps coffee at a good temperature and with some experimenting with different coffee ground quantities and types we are now getting a decent cup of coffee from the first to last cup. Negatives are in relation to this previous model are, small LCD panel which for me is hard to read, no timer backup on power failure and difficult to fill water reservoir. Happy we bought this brand and coffee maker and would recommend.

I was sick of crap tasting home cappuccino machines, so I have decided to go back to black... And as they say in the industry 'once you go black you don't go back's

It sounds like Cheech & Chong are in my kitchen every morning.

great disappointment at first use

Firstly I can't find the serial number on my machine. Normally every machine has a serial number somewhere. For this model I can't see anything.

 Secondly the manual is also very imprecise with big mistakes like POUR instead of HOUR on the components page and does not indicate if the machine stops automatically when it has finished its brewing process or better if a sound signal is activated? This is important knowing that we can be far from the machine at the end of its cycle or even if it has been programmed for the morning and we are not yet awake. I know it's a basic model but still I'm quite frustrated.

A great buy if you like black coffee

We love this. We had used a stove top pot for a few years but wanted the convince of waking up to hot coffee. It’s really easy to program. You use the coffee pot itself to measure and easily fill the water tank. 
We find it keeps the coffee hot for 2+ hours. We drink it black and add some water to cool it down/ mellow the flavour. We find ordering coffee ground specifically for drip filter makes a difference, but quality ground coffee from the supermarket works great. Really happy with this. Glad we picked this model over the alternative as the extra buttons make it easy to program.
