Tuna Melt Club Sandwich
A triple layered favorite, bursting with a creamy tuna filling and melty fontina cheese. Fresh herbs and lemon give it a flavor packed punch. And while the ingredients are nicely simple, this is no humble melt!

6 slices white bread
2 tomatoesthinly sliced
¼ tsp kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepperto season
1 cup (3½ oz) finely grated Gruyere cheese
8 baby romaine lettuce leaves
For the tuna filling
2 x 5 oz cans tuna in waterdrained
3 tbsp ranch dressing
3 tbsp sour cream
½ celery stalkfinely diced
1 tbsp capersrinsed, patted dry and finely chopped
1 small dill picklefinely chopped
¼ cup flat-leaf parsley leavesfinely chopped
1 tsp grated lemon zest
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
Kosher saltto season
Freshly ground black pepperto season
Instructions
- 1Place 3 slices of bread, in a single layer, in the air fry basket and insert the basket into position 1. Set the oven to Toast, Darkness 7, select 3 Slices and press Start. Meanwhile, continue to the next step.
- 2Lay the tomato slices in a single layer and sprinkle evenly with the salt and pepper.
- 3The bread should be lightly toasted. If not, press A Bit More. Transfer the bread to a cutting board. Repeat with the remaining bread. Meanwhile, continue to the next step.Tip: It may need a little more or a little less extra cooking time, best to keep an eye on it.
- 4To make the tuna filling, place all the filling ingredients in a bowl and mix to combine.
- 5Divide the tuna filling between 4 slices of toast and evenly sprinkle with the cheese. Place the 4 tuna toasts in the air fry basket.
- 6Place the basket into position 1. Set the oven to Broil, High, for 4 minutes and press Start.
- 7The cheese should be melted. If not, press A Bit More. Remove the basket from the oven and transfer the melts to the cutting board. Tip: It may need a little more or a little less extra cooking time, best to keep an eye on it.
- 8Layer the tomato slices and lettuce over the tuna melts. Stack two melts together, then top each stack with a final slice of toast. Secure each sandwich with 4 skewers, piercing through all the layers, and slice into 4 neat triangles.
- 9Serve your golden, melty tuna club stacked high—perfect for sharing or savoring solo. Pair with your favorite crunchy chips for a satisfying and delicious lunch.
