Setting up your machine
Now that you’ve unboxed the Breville Bambino® and washed all its parts and accessories, you’re ready to set up this compact-yet-powerful espresso machine and take at-home brewing to a whole new level. First, fill the water tank with fresh water and attach it to the machine. Next, select the right filter basket for the coffee you’re brewing. You can make either a single cup with a 1-cup filter basket, or you can make a double or stronger shot using a 2-cup filter basket. It is recommended to use the single-wall filter basket for beans within the peak 5- to 30-day post-roast window. If your beans are more than 30 days out of roast, or if you don’t know when it was roasted (i.e. you have a “best used by” date on the package), it is recommended to use the dual-wall filter basket. To commence the ‘first-use cycle’ of the machine, press the ‘1-Cup’ button where it will flush the machine before returning to standby mode with all buttons illuminated. Your machine is now set up and ready for you to produce your first beverage!
