How to perform a cleaning cycle

Have you ever noticed that your favorite barista is constantly cleaning their tools between brewing delicious cups of coffee? 
It is essential to keep your tools clean so nothing interferes with the exquisite taste of your third-wave specialty coffee. We designed the Breville Barista Express® with this in mind. It has a complete self-monitoring cleansing and descaling cycle built into the machine that will notify you when to perform the next cleaning cycle.

1) First, you will learn to recognize the espresso maker's signal that it needs a clean cycle. 
2) Next, you'll see how to use the grey silicone cleaning disk and the cleansing tablets that came with your machine. These will be added to the portafilter before locking it into the group head.
3) Before starting the cleaning cycle, empty the water tank and the drip tray. 
4) Next, watch to see how to initiate the cleaning cycle using the buttons on the front of the machine. The cleaning cycle runs for about five minutes, after which the Barista Express® notifies you the cleaning process is complete. 
5) When the cleaning tablet is fully dissolved, you're ready to brew your next cup of third-wave coffee.
